Encroachment of Green Belt - wall required

URGENT ATTENTION REQUIRED

To,

The Secretary,
PWD,
Delhi

Sir,

I wish to bring to your attention, PWD is not taking care of land under your charge, and permitting it to be encroached by hawkers, vendors and vested interests, in the area of Defence Colony, New Delhi 110024, Ring Road end.

This 'calling to attention' more specifically alludes to green belt and land between the ring road and Defence Colony. This area is being encroached by hawkers, vendors and other vested interests who are gradually setting up permanent structures there, to which PWD has turned a blind eye

Further, the area has not been lit by streetlights, as a result of which nefarious activity such as dumping Mulba, theft, prostitution, mugging and other petty crimes keep occurring in this area, making it very unsafe for residents.

Consequently, you may consider constructing a protective wall along the periphery of the colony, that is, a wall starting from house number E-1 to E-27, and provide gates for ingress / egress. This will prevent crime, make residents secure, and protect the green belts from encroachment.

Your URGENT attention in the matter is solicited

Yours Faithfully

Plants for Defence Colony

To,
The CEO
DPGS
Delhi

Dear Mr. Singh,

I present some photos of the blooming parks of Defence Colony, which we have worked upon in the last 8 months, with assistance of plants from yourselves, for which we express our gratitude.

We now need to take this good work forward, and need flowering shrubs and plants to improve/infill and enhance the planted areas and  cover territory that has not been planted.

Kindly therefore provide us with plants as the salubrious weather favors planting and we'd have them firmly rooted before the onset of pre monsoon showers.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

Rajeev Suri

Dear Mr Shukla,
I

our interaction last season regarding tree planting programs in

We however couldn't get support from the Forest Department, but none the less  did a remarkable job in creating Green Belts in our neighborhood.

I have read an article in today's TOI re increased planting targets and shortage of space. We can plant 2000++ trees in our catchment area
if your support towards citizens / residents initiative is forth coming.

Consequently, p
lease advise if you'd like to harness our resources this
 season leading upto the
 monsoon
s
For your information, w
e managed to plant 1500 trees last season in cooperation with MCD
and other residents of the colony.

Plants for Defence Colony

URGENT

To,
The CEO
DPGS
Delhi

Dear Sir,

Requirement of Plant for Defence Colony: Delay in action in the said matter.

I had written to you on 16th March 2015, and resent the same mail on 20th March, requesting plants to be supplied to Defence Colony, as the weather was conducive towards planting. Unfortunately you have chosen not to reply the mails, and the weather has changed from conducive to planting, as it is warming up. Earlier the plants would have established on their own, now we will have to physically water them over the next few months.

You would recall last year too, we were faced with a similar situation, given your cavalier attitude to citizens initiatives, and chose to ignore our requests till the LG's office had to intervene and instruct you to comply with your stated citizen mandate.

I wish to remind you that DPGS functions for the very reason of providing plants to the city, and given the alarming level of pollution in our city and country, planting shrubs and trees which are carbon sinks, is being treated as a national mission. Unfortunately, DPGS functions as if it were the personal property of an individual, and selective distributing plants to chosen entities.

I therefore call upon yourselves to fulfill your mandate, and provide plants as the society is expected to do, in the interest of the city and nation. failing which the matter will be placed before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) for necessary Judicial adjudication.

Yours faithfully
