Sir,

Kindly find herewith correspondence with Commissioner SDMC's office regarding misuse of public parking by parking Mafia who have been give rights to collect parking charges by RP cell, SDMC.

The apparent complicity between the Mafia and SDMC officials comes to light, as despite clear instructions from the Commissioner to take necessary action, the concerned officials remain recalcitrant and have not acted in the matter.

Further, a great number of diesel generating sets have been parked on public land, on a trolley and on the ground, occupying pedestrian pathways. These too, are illegal and must be removed.

Your urgent instructions to SDMC to take action in these matters is solicited.

I forward you email correspondence  by which I had raised the issue of public parking space for cars being taken over by commercial vehicles, gensets on wheels ice cream carts etc in the Moolchand Commercial Complex Defence Colony. You had instructed the RP cell to take appropriate action, and inform the undersigned action taken, under copy to your office.

I regret to inform you in total disobedience of your orders, DC RP cell has taken NO ACTION, and the misuse of the parking lot continues unabated, thereby blocking land earmarked for visitor parking  in the commercial complex.

I request you to take urgent appropriate action.

Dear Mr. Commissioner, 

I raised a grievance about the visitor parking lot of the Moolchand Commercial Complex Defence Colony being taken over by Parking Mafia, that permit parking of commercial vehicles meant for only for parking of visitor vehicles to the complex.

The Mafia however besides allowing parking of commercial vehicles, have begun permitting the parking of Diesel Gen-sets on wheels.These Gen-sets not only occupy substantial visitor parking space, an open air workshop has begun in the parking area to repair their broken down Gen-sets.

Such blatant misuse of parking space for commercial activity is completely unacceptable; the errant parking contractor should be brought to book to immediately to end this practice, under fear their contract would be revoked.

Your urgent action in the matter is solicited.

Hon'ble Madam Dy Commissioner,

I bring to your attention the Local Shopping Center at Moolchand Commercial Complex Defence Colony, being taken over by the parking Mafia, which is permitting parking of commercial vehicles, gensets on wheels, taxi service cars, mechanics repairing cars etc.

Commercial Complex's have self contained parking meant for visitor vehicles to the complex, who park for a short period of time, and on completing the purpose of their visit, will move on, making way for others coming to the Complex for their work. Consequently, with the constant ingress and egress of vehicles the parking area does not get blocked, and visitors find place to park.

The situation has however changed now, with commercial vehicles, cash carrying vehicles, taxi's, genset on wheels all occupying space meant for visitor parking. Such parking area blocks visitor parking, and residents of Defence Colony being deprived of such parking, have to park on roadsides.Such spill over parking blocks road space, and hence traffic flows get affected, causing traffic jams, and consequent inconvenience to the community as a whole.

It is therefore requested the parking contractors agreement be revoked for doing such a patently illegal act. Furthermore, the commercial vehicles, genset on wheels, taxis etc be made to shift out of the complex, to alternate  sites allocated by GNCTD for such commercial parking.

Look forward to our attention and urgent action in the matter.
