URGENT
To,
The CEO
DPGS
Delhi
Dear Sir,
Requirement of Plant for Defence Colony: Delay in action in the said matter.
I had written to you on 16th March 2015, and resent the same mail on 20th March, requesting plants to be supplied to Defence Colony, as the weather was conducive towards planting. Unfortunately you have chosen not to reply the mails, and the weather has changed from conducive to planting, as it is warming up. Earlier the plants would have established on their own, now we will have to physically water them over the next few months.
You would recall last year too, we were faced with a similar situation, given your cavalier attitude to citizens initiatives, and chose to ignore our requests till the LG's office had to intervene and instruct you to comply with your stated citizen mandate.
I wish to remind you that DPGS functions for the very reason of providing plants to the city, and given the alarming level of pollution in our city and country, planting shrubs and trees which are carbon sinks, is being treated as a national mission. Unfortunately, DPGS functions as if it were the personal property of an individual, and selective distributing plants to chosen entities.
I therefore call upon yourselves to fulfill your mandate, and provide plants as the society is expected to do, in the interest of the city and nation. failing which the matter will be placed before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) for necessary Judicial adjudication.
Yours faithfully
Rajeev Suri
